We recently released iDOOnotifier  a standalone applet that allows you to check your email in 'background mode'.

iDOOnotifier is built using Adobe Air technology.

iDOOnotifier is our first step to demonstrate how iDOO can be used on you computer without the need of launching a web browser.

You can dowload iDOOnotifier here

Some developpers have created an API with Paseosoft free technology, iDoo Sync, that allows you to export your Outlook contacts into an iDOOmail account.

First you must verify that .NET Framework 2.0 is installed on your computer. You can download it here.

Once iDOO Sync is downloaded and installed you can export your contacts from Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or a vcf file.

The following list shows the contacts that you want to export to your iDOOmail account:

The next step is to set the login and password of your iDOOmail account and verify the connection with the server. Now you can export, your contacts; when you are finished you will see this summary at the end of the operation:

Like we said two days ago, we have implemented an OpenID login form on idoo.com. Once you are logged, you have to associate your OpenID with your current idoo's username/password.
If you don't have one, you can register and we will automatically associate your openid and your new idoo login.

Later, you will be able to login with both without difference.

Of course, we are using our own openidoo client for the login code.

We like openid !

We want to use it on every actual and future iDOO service, and we're sure it will become a major feature of futures websites and applications.
We were'nt happy with all the open source PHP clients we've found, so we decided to build our own.

Today, we are proud to release (under GPL License) the first version of the our iDOO Openid client.
Of course, the server part will be available very soon !

It's a giant step for us, this is our first GPL released sofware, and we want to share it with the open source community,

You can download the actual version and reportsbugs and features needed to Jonathan, the developper who worked on it.

We have tested this cool feature, mixing Javascript and Hcard.

You can copy (right-click, copy) a contact using the scissors button, and paste it into a live clip board box that understands the format.

Ray Ozzie did a real good job, I think it's a useful feature that we will add the future. We are working on similar stuff, including many microformats and features, to create a new kind of user interface, where you will be able to copy and paste photos, videos, and friends from differents websites into iDOO.

I hope we will be able soon to show you our first tries !

We have worked hard for many months to have this brand new product.
iDOOmail is our main application: I've choosen to build a webmail with Flash. There were many technical problems, but we found solutions for each one and iDOOmail was a major success.

We needed to use and search for ajax, html and flash trixes, I'll spend time describing some of those in the next few days.

We're working hard on embracing microformats:

We've just added hcard in all iDOO blogs, you can have access to the author's hcard by visiting their blog, and interacting with it using the Operator plug-in for FireFox.

We have created an extension for the Operator toolbar (a Firefox extension to interact with microformats), which allows you import any hcard contact into your iDOOmail and contacts.

To use the script you will first need to download the Operator plug-in by visting the following link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4106

Once you have installed the Operator plug-in You can download the iDOO extension here : http://static.idoo.com/labs/idoo.js and add it to Operator. You will need to save the page to your desktop and then use the Options->User Scripts to add them to Operator. After adding them, restart the browser.

This is the first step, but these are many things we are working on :)

Yesterday, we made some modifications to the Tag Torrent.

The Tag Torrent is the yellow bar (yellow ? orange ? sorry I'm color blind :) you can find on the homepage.
Like others tags systems, it prints the most important tags in the last 24 hours.

The major feature we add with the iDOO tagscloud is the link between tags.
When you click on a tag, we will show you the main videos, blogs and websites in relation with this word.
But we also show you all the others keywords that are related to the word you've clicked on.

In fact, it's a new way to discover content on iDOO.
From a keyword, you can navigate from tags to tags, using a semantic way. For example, if you are a rugby fan (like all iDOO's developpers) you can click on a "rugby" then "Australia" tag, then switch to "journey", "lagoon", etc. After each click, you will see appropriate content and be able to discover new subjects again and again.

I'll post soon a shot description of the internal way it works (PHP, MySQL, etc.)
